Study commissioned by the Task Team on CSO Development Effectiveness and Enabling Environment

The Task Team on CSO Development Effectiveness and Enabling Environment – the Secretariat of which is hosted by the ISS – commissioned a study on what contributes to the good performance of multi-stakeholder initiatives (MSIs). This study is relevant considering the emphasis placed on partnerships as an instrument of international development cooperation, including within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Under the leadership of Dr Kees Biekart and Professor Alan Fowler from ISS’ Civic Innovation Research Initiative, research was done by a local team of consultants in Costa Rica, Indonesia, Kenya and Kyrgyzstan.

The research resulted in an Extended Summary and four Volumes of work. These are now available online on the Task Team website.
