'Challenging Social Exclusion'
Published by Fountain Publishers, 'Challenging Social Exclusion: Multi-Sectoral Approaches to Realising Social Justice in East Africa' investigates the question of social justice in East Africa. The work delves into thorny issues in social justice and recommends ways of addressing them.
The book addresses the needs of social workers, local government leaders, women and gender activists, the legal fraternity and the general reader.
'Challenging Social Exclusion' is edited by ISS senior lecturer Helen Hintjens, ISS PhD graduates Frorence Nyakaisiki and Jackson Odong, and Jimmy Maguru. The contributing writers are scholars from various backgrounds including development studies, social work and law.
The publication of this book arose out of a NICHE (Nuffic funded) capacity building project in Uganda - 'Mainstreaming and Strengthening the Social Component in the Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS) in Uganda'.
