At the end of 2017, Mary Pieterse-Bloem, associate professor at Erasmus School of Economics and global head of fixed income strategy & portfolio management at ABN AMRO Private Banking International, gave the ABN Amro Outlook presentation, together with Ralph Wessel (ABN Amro). In the Outlook presentation ABN Amro’s strategy for 2018 is discussed.
Amongst other things, the impact of the policies of the central banks were discussed, such as the Fed’s policy to reduce the balance sheet. According to Pieterse-Bloem ‘the bond market assumes that the Fed will tackle this policy normalization perfectly. There are no small expectations, because it has never been done before.’
