The Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB) traditionally publishes the economic growth indicators 45 days after each quarter has ended. Because it is useful to have this information earlier, some econometricians have developed the Econometric Institute Current Indicator of the Economy (EICIE).
12.5 years after its emergence Philip Hans Franses, Professor of applied econometrics and Professor of marketing research at Erasmus School of Economics, evaluates the EICIE in the magazine ESB.
