Dr. Payal Arora, Associate Professor in the Department of Media and Communication, has been nominated by the Rector Magnificus and the University Board to represent Erasmus University Rotterdam for the Teacher of the Year in higher education competition in the Netherlands.
Organised by The Interstedelijk Studenten Overleg (ISO), the Teacher of the Year election has been a success for the past three years. ISO is the largest national student organization in the Netherlands and represents over half a million students of universities and universities of applied sciences.
Universities are encouraged to nominate teachers who are inspiring, creative, and innovative to run in the Teacher of the Year election. This year dr. Payal Arora was nominated by EUR to join the competition and will hear mid-February if she is one of the finalists.
The five finalists of the election will do a Ted Talk at Jaarbeurs Utrecht on Saturday 21 April 2018, after which the jury will announce the winner of the award.
