Profile
My research focuses on (gendered) issues related to body projects, particularly cosmetic procedures. In 2021, I will publish the book Discourses of Beauty, which looks at how cosmetic procedures and 'other' beauty products are represented and marketed in the UK.
Currently, I am working on research which compares Instagram marketing by cosmetic providers in the UK and in the Netherlands. Moreover, I am setting up various projects which look at the perceived normalisation of cosmetic procedures among young adults and adolescents.
