Boo van der Vlist studied Fine Arts at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. After completing both bachelors in 2013 she continued her “double degree” ambitions by studying the master programme Policy and Governance Studies at the University of Amsterdam, from which she graduated Cum Laude and the temporary master programme “System D Academy” at the Sandberg Institute. After completing both programmes in 2016, Boo has been running her own artistic research practice with a focus on socially committed projects. In addition she is currently staff member at the Rotterdam Arts and Sciences Lab (RASL) and tutors at Erasmus University College (Humanities Department) and at the Social Practice of the Willem de Kooning Academy.
Why do you work at EUC?
What I like most about working at EUC are the small group sizes and the close community amongst staff and students that provide a very personal approach to education. In addition, the rich and flexible curriculum with all of the great extracurricular activities (like the Arts & Culture programme) makes EUC feel like an educational candy store. Of course I have a special place for the Double Degree programme. Having a double degree background myself, I am very happy that I can be part of RASL, making it easier for students to pursue and combine their academic and artistic talents.
