Profile

Irene Blum is a Danish researcher and lecturer at the Department of Media and Communication at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

She specialises in political protests and activism and investigates how the new media landscape is changing the game for activists and other persons with a social justice agenda thorugh shifting power to their favour. Irene's teaching focuses on the influence of communciation and the power of media in fuelling sociocultural change. 

She holds degrees from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark and Erasmus University Rotterdam in The Netherlands. She obtained her degree from the latter in the program Media Culture and Society in 2017.
