Petra Saskia Bayerl is Associate Professor of Technology and Organizational Behaviour. Her research interests lay in the fields of human-computer interaction, the implementation of information systems, new media and communication. Her current research focuses on privacy, surveillance and emerging technologies als tools for citizen participation in the creation of
public safety.

She further holds the position of Co-Director of CESAM (Centre of Excellence in Public Safety Management). CESAM aims to be an international platform for management scholars, practitioners, policy makers and private industry in the public safety domain. In this function it conducts national and international research projects, currently on community policing and complaint management in police forces.

In March 2016 she was appointed as Associate Dean of Diversity at RSM. In this role she is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of diversity measures, advice to the school’s Executive Board, the academic department chairs, directors of administrative departments and the Promotions and Tenure committee and linkages with diversity bodies inside and outside the university. The role has a duration of two years.
