ERC Starting Independent Researcher Grant

The Ideas programme is part of the Seventh EU Framework Programme for research and innovation. The Ideas programme offers grants for excellent researchers, wishing to carry out groundbreaking research. A special agency, the European Research Council (ERC), has been set up to implement this programme. The Ideas programme offers financial support for groundbreaking research by means of the Starting Independent Researcher Grants (maximum € 1,500,000) Researchers of all nationalities and ages can submit research projects. The host institutions where the researcher carries out the project has to be established in an EU member state, an associate state or a candidate member state. The Starting Grant is designed to support the leading researchers of the future in setting up their own research group.
