CIAO: Columbia International Affairs International

Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO) is a source for theory and research in international affairs. It publishes a wide range of scholarship from 1991 onward that includes working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, proceedings from conferences, books, journals and policy briefs.

International Political Science Abstracts (IPSA)

Bibliographical database produced by the International Political Science Association (IPSA). Indexes journals and yearbooks in political sciences from 1951 to the present. Topics include method and theory; political thinkers and ideas; political and administrative institutions; political processes; international relations; and national and area studies. 

Scopus

Multidisciplinary citation database of research literature (journals and books). It contains records going back to the mid 1960s.

Sociological abstracts Bibliographical database covering sociology and related disciplines like policy sciences. It includes citations and abstracts from over 1800 journals, relevant dissertations, selected books and book chapters, and association papers, as well as citations for book reviews and other media.

Web of Science

Multidisciplinary citation database, covering journals, books and conference proceedings. It provides cover-to-cover indexing available to 1975, in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities.

Blackwell Encyclopedia of Social and Political Movements online Encyclopedia covering a broad range of historical and modern topics to create an understanding of social and political developments and changes.
Concise Oxford Dictionary of Politics Over 1,700 entries on all aspects of politics. Written by a leading team of political scientists, it embraces the whole multi-disciplinary spectrum of political theory including political thinkers, history, institutions, and concepts, as well as notable current affairs that have shaped attitudes to politics. Encyclopedia of Digital Government With over 250 detailed articles, this three-volume set provides a broad basis for understanding the issues, theories, and applications faced by public administrations and public organizations as they strive for more effective government through the use of emerging technologies. Also available via Idea Groups on Informatics 
Encyclopedia of Political Science The Encyclopedia of Political Science (TEPS) offers access to more than 1,500 articles on concepts in political science in the early twenty-first century. Except tradional subjects, it also incorporates those fields that have emerged more recently, for example: race and ethnicity, gender studies, and political economy. It also provides biographical entries, background on countries, theorists, theories and images.
The Encyclopedia of Political Thought This encyclopedia examines the history of political thought, contemporary political theory, and political philosophy. The entries range in size from shorter definitions and biographies to extended treatments of major topics and traditions.
Encyclopedia of Urban Studies An internationally orientated encyclopedia providing comprehensive coverage of topics currently studied in urban studies. It adresses both the growth and expansion of urban areas (urbanization) as well as the nature and quality of urban life (urbanism).
International Encyclopedia of the Social & Behavioral Sciences (2nd edition) Contains about 4000 articles, 90.000 references and 150 bibliographical entries on communication, behavioral sciences, social sciences, psychology and education theory. Also known as IESBS. Part of Science Direct. Also available in printed form (1968-1991), of which the electronic version can be regarded as an update of the printed form.

Governmental information

Kluwer Navigator: gives access to full text Dutch legislation, case law and commentaries on all fields of law. It also has a substantial archive.

OpMaat: Full text government publications, Dutch legislation, issuing of rules, case law, European legislation and articles from Sdu legal journals on case law. Dutch only.

Overheid.nl: The central access point to information about and from the government and governmental organizations of the Netherlands. Main language: Dutch, some parts are translated in English.

Rotterdam Internet Law Library (RILL): part of the cooperation between Dutch universities. The aim of this collaboration is to create an internet law library for the academic legal domain, primarily focused on Dutch law and secondarily on European and international law.

EU Publications Office: publishes the daily Official Journal of the European Union in 23 languages and produces (or co-produces) publicity for EU initiatives and activities.

ECLAS (European Commission Libraries Catalogue): dicloses the official documents of the European Commission.

EURlex:European Union portal that provides access to European Union law including consolidated legislation, showing full documents considered to be public.

Eurostat: statistical bureau of the European Union. Their statistics database contains detailed statistics on the EU and candidate countries.
