This is the first time I left Asia to study, and the reason why I chose the Philosophy Now master's programme of the EUR is because of the professional teachers, diverse courses, and international education environment. Here, we can communicate with students from various countries and stimulate more ideas. Secondly, this master is divided into four clusters, which allows me being able to focus more on the areas of my interest and strengthen my major. Besides, Rotterdam is a really nice city with a good quality of life and convenience, where you can easily get all your daily needs, while also discovering and enjoying much natural beauty around the city. Studying at Erasmus provides me with a chance to not only put what I learned in my undergraduate studies into practice, but also expand my perspectives and enable me to analyze each situation from different angles to achieve mastery in all I have learned. I strongly believe that after this one-year Philosophy Now programme, we can connect to the workplace more smoothly and use our profession better.

After completing my bachelor's in philosophy at the Erasmus University, I decided to continue my studies in the Philosophy Now master's programme of the EUR. I chose this master because it focuses on philosophical debates that engage with our society. When choosing a master programme, I found it important that I could focus on areas of philosophy that I found the most interesting and relevant for my future career. Philosophy Now offers a personalized but coherent curriculum, by dividing the courses into four clusters, out of which students can choose the two clusters that appeal to them most. Because of the small-scaled education and dedicated teachers, this programme provides me with a learning environment in which I feel motivated to share and develop new ideas and insights.

I had a big aspiration to study abroad and to become a part of international community full of unique, creative and zealous students. That is how I decided to move to the Netherlands, first for my Bachelor, in which I combined degrees of business administration and philosophy. Then during my studies, I came to like Erasmus University so much that I decided to do my Master here too. As the result I did two Master degrees, in the sphere of management and in philosophy.

MA Philosophy Now, was my second degree that I decided to go for, since the programme allowed its students to freely construct their own curriculum out of a diversity of courses. In addition this programme provided a practical track were you could apply your knowledge directly in some chosen sphere. And if you were ambitious for more challenges, there was an honours programme that you could join. I really appreciated that flexibility throughout the entire programme, which was enabled with a support of the entire teaching staff.

And that was truly the core of this Master - a dedicated team of professors who helped nourishing your knowledge and polishing your skills. But of course you should be prepared to read a lot of philosophical literature, write essays and engage yourself in critical thinking. Good news, there’s a plenty of opportunity to work on your creative and problem solving skills too! Besides typical essay writing, courses also had exciting teamwork assignments, group presentations and projects that challenged you in a novel way.

Another great part of this programme was the community of students, who came from different cultural and educational backgrounds. They always brought versatile perspectives to the table, making class discussions very engaging and unique. At the end, I have realised that hands on experiences like this, best prepares you for the future career in an international environment.
