Rotterdam Entrepreneurs
The Erasmus University Rotterdam Fund is part of Stichting Erasmus Trustfonds. In 1913, a group of Rotterdam entrepreneurs founded the Nederlandsche Handels-Hoogeschool (NHH), which later became Erasmus University Rotterdam. The association established to facilitate the founding of the NHH is the legal predecessor of Stichting Erasmus Trustfonds.
The Erasmus University Rotterdam Fund has thus been a trusted partner of Erasmus University Rotterdam for over a hundred years. The group of entrepreneurs was inspired by trips to the United States and various European cities, where economic education was being offered in an increasing number of places. Rotterdam had developed into a major port city, but higher education was still lacking in the city. That marks the beginning of the rich history of the Erasmus University Rotterdam Fund.
