On June 19 and 20, economists and theologians came together at the Erasmus University to engage in a fruitful dialogue on the nature of community. A diverse gathering of scientists, from all over the world and from diverse denominations, took the discussion to a higher plane. Moreover, thoughts and ideas were shared over a plate filled with good food.
Arttu Makipaa provided an introduction on the potentiality of negative of apophatic economics, presenting an interesting view from theology. Gordon Menzies held a keynote on the possibility of introducting theological concepts in game theory. Moreover, Irene van Staveren provided a Mennonite perspective on the community in economics, bringing in historical examples and developments. Finally, Roel Jongeneel provided a keynote lecture on the community from the perspective of reformational philosophy, emphasizing that different context imply different forms of community. On top of that, some twenty scientists provided their perspective on the community and related topics.
