About the Faculty
Profile
The Faculty of Philosophy is a small faculty with big ambitions that aims to play a leading role regarding the various styles of the practice of philosophy, not only nationally, but also internationally. We are an outward-looking faculty.
Every year, increasing numbers of students choose the Philosophy study programmes in Rotterdam, where they study in a small and personal, but nonetheless professional, academic environment. Guided by dedicated lecturers, they are given the opportunity to delve into comprehensive and varied Philosophy study programmes.
During their time at the Faculty the students develop into critical and analytical men and women with substantial intellectual capacity. Both history and modern philosophy are part of our education and research programmes, existing in parallel but nonetheless with a great deal in common. Both are inspired by recent developments in society and focus on solving current issues.
