Scholarship for excellent applicants

The Erasmus Trustfonds was founded to support research and education projects, organised by Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) specifically. The fund hereby aims to contribute to the growth and flourishing of EUR. For the academic year 2025-2026, the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC) offers two Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarships: one for an excellent non-EEA applicant and one for an excellent EEA applicant.

 

Scholarship amount

The Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship amounts to €15.000 for housing, living costs, and tuition fees. The scholarship is granted for one year. 

Application criteria

  • You have applied for a full-time English-taught master programme at ESHCC for the academic year 2025-2026.
  • You have never before studied at an educational institution, including secondary school, in The Netherlands.
  • You are considered an excellent applicant, as apparent from your motivation and the average grade at the time of application of your bachelor education. Your average grade is equivalent to the Dutch grade of 8,0 on a grading scale of 1 to 10.

How to apply

To apply for one of the Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarships you have to submit your application for a full-time English-taught master programme at ESHCC by 15 April. During the application process, you will be asked to submit your application for the Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship. Applications submitted by email will not be considered. The application deadline for the Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship is 30 April. You will be informed about the decision of the Scholarship Committee by 1 June.

Scholarship awarding

  • The Dean of ESHCC will decide on nominations for the scholarship, based on the advice of the Scholarship Committee.
  • The Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship can only be granted if you enroll in the master programme that you have applied for.
