Professionals, academic staff and students come together during PAC Event on the Power of Storytelling

PAC World Cafe

On 1 June 2018, the first PAC Event took place on the topic of storytelling. Academic staff members, professionals from the field and students came together during this event hosted by the Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) to discuss the topic of storytelling. PAC is a committee at the Department of Communication and Media that aims to bring together the academic and professional world.

The event included a panel discussion and table discussions with five professionals from different disciplines, among others PR, journalism, and the non-profit sector. All speakers shared their knowledge and various ways of using storytelling with the students. The setting of the event was informal and meant to bring together professionals and students, in order to promote mutual learning and inspiration.

PAC Expert Members

The professionals who attended this event are all PAC Expert Members. This means they collaborate with the PAC Staff Members to improve the curriculum of the Media & Communication Department, grounding the programmes in current practice. By doing so, it is ensured that our students are well prepared for the labour market and can contribute to societal advancement.

Next edition

PAC will organise an event biannually. The next edition is scheduled for fall 2018. The theme of this event will be announced on the PAC webpage. New PAC Expert Members will be asked to participate in this event, depending on the specific topics and issues addressed.
