Programme Committee Arts and Culture Studies

The Programme Committee Arts and Culture Studies (PCACS) is the official participatory body of the Arts and Culture Studies department that engages in education. We are composed of four student members and four staff members (lecturers). The programme management is legally required to seek our advice on their plans for our education programmes (Bachelor and Master) including structure and organisation of the programmes and the content of the curricula. One of our main tasks is to monitor the implementation of the educational evaluations and to make proposals for improving the quality of education. In addition to our advisory role, we have the right of consent to parts of the Teaching and Examination Regulations (TER).

Students can apply to join the Programme Committee at the beginning of the academic year. For the staff members, annual elections are held.

Student members of the PCACS have an important role as representatives of the student voice in education initiatives and policy. They are actively engaged in our meetings, contributing new perspectives, raising relevant issues and participating in specific taskforces intent on exploring new ideas. They are also responsible for gathering student feedback on our education programmes via panel discussions held twice a year.

We are open to suggestions about how to improve or innovate the Arts and Culture Studies programmes from both staff members and students. If you would like to share your ideas, do not hesitate to contact us via PCACS@eshcc.eur.nl; we are happy to hear your thoughts!
