Prof.dr. Wiep van Bunge
Wiep van Bunge (b. 1960; Ph.D. 1990 EUR) is professor of the History of Philosophy and dean of the Department of Philosophy, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and a member of the Erasmus Center for Early Modern History. From 2000 to 2006 he was director of the research program The Early Enlightenment in the Dutch Republic: Cartesianism, Spinozism, Empiricism, 1650-1750, sponsored by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). His main research intererests are in the early modern history of ideas and in the historical origins and philosophical relevance of Enlightenment. As of 2010 he co-directs another NWO-project, entitled Faultline 1700: Early Enlightenment Conversations on Religion and Politics.
