For whom?
The university provides financial support to students who, due to special circumstances, delay in their studiesopen during the nominal duration of study. The special circumstances may be relevant social activities or top-level sport (EUR top-level sport status, awarded by Erasmus Sport).
Period of support
The period in which study delay due to relevant social activities or top-level sport leads to entitlement to support is the period of the basic grant (for Dutch students and other EEA students entitled to student finance) or the nominal study duration (for non-EEA students).
Height
- Your financial support will be determined for a number of months (maximum six months for the entire study period).
- You will receive a fixed amount per month. Students who receive a supplementary grant from DUO receive additional support on top of the fixed monthly amount. This monthly amount is equal to the supplementary grant from DUO.
Operation
- The financial support is determined for a number of months (maximum 6 months for the entire study period). You will therefore be paid per month. The payment starts after the nominal duration of your studies and lasts for a maximum of 12 months.
- You will only receive the financial support if you are enrolled as a full-time student at Erasmus University Rotterdam during those months of payment. If you graduate, the remaining months of financial support will not be paid.
Application & procedure
- To apply for financial aid, you must report the delay and apply for financial assistance. Make an appointment through the website with one of the student counsellors.
- A committee will assess the application and determine how many months of financial support you are eligible for. The committee takes into account the relationship between the circumstances and the educational programme. The decision is open to the usual objection and appeal procedure.
