Dr. Tonny Krijnen to present latest research on Black Mirror at International Association for Media and Communication Research

Dr. Tonny Krijnen will be presenting her latest research at the International Association for Media and Communication Research in Eugene, Oregon from Wednesday 20 June until Sunday 24 June. The theme of the IAMCR 2018 conference is Reimagining Sustainability: Communication and Media Research in a Changing World.

At the conference, Dr. Krijnen will be presenting her latest research on the TV series Black Mirror. She shares: "In my presentation I will focus on how this dystopian science fiction series articulates a self-reflexive discourse on technology and society." As she is also the co-chair of the Popular Culture Working Group, dr. Krijnen will be part of the conference programme on each day, chairing sessions, meeting other chairs, hosting a get together and of course a lot of catching up with old friends and colleagues.

Tonny Krijnen (1974) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Media & Communication of Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Her teaching and research activities lie in the fields of popular culture, morality, gender, television studies, and qualitative research methods. Her current research focuses on television (content, production, and reception), morality, gender, and emotions.
