Why study entrepreneurship without acting entrepreneurially? Students in the Applied Entrepreneurship course didn’t just learn the theory - they put it into practice by developing and delivering real-world projects. Within just one month, they launched impressive initiatives at scale: attracting around 200 participants to their events, navigating uncertainty, and creating opportunities while collaborating with established cultural institutions such as MONO Rotterdam, Schouwburg Gouda, and Cultuur & Campus Putselaan.
Their work demonstrates that boldness, dedication, and hard work are a powerful combination. These students successfully translated shared values into tangible cultural experiences.
Graduate students from the Master’s programme in Cultural Economics and Cultural Entrepreneurship at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication designed and executed four innovative cultural projects. These initiatives have the potential to reshape practices in:
- the independent music scene for emerging artists in Rotterdam
- the participatory events sector in Gouda
- community-building through art and heritage in South Rotterdam.
