With effect from 1 September 2020 and for a term of two years, Marc Verboord is appointed as Head of Department Media and Communication.
Marc Verboord (1971) joined Erasmus University in 2004 as postdoctoral fellow in the Dept. of Arts and Culture Studies. In 2008 he joined as Assistant Professor the new initiative on Media and Communication within the EUR. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011. In 2018 Marc held the position of Visiting Professor at the Dept. of Media, Cognition and Communications of the University of Copenhagen.
Marc will step in the footsteps of Susanne Janssen who was appointed as founding Dean of Media and Communication at EUR in 2008 and chaired it since then. Under her guidance the Department grew steadily to its present position with more than 80 faculty members and well-recognized educational and research programs. Both the Department M&C and ESHCC at large owe Susanne respect and gratitude for her amazing effort and perseverance.
