We are happy to announce that Ning Hong (Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication) received a grant from the Taiwanese government within the 'Taiwan–Belgium–Netherlands Academic Exchange and International Mobility Grant Program'. This new grant is open for aal scholars from the Netherland and Belgium who would like to go to Taiwan (and vice versa). to visit academic institutions and give lectures.
Hong will collaborate with Institute of Social Innovation, National Sun Yat-sen University (Taiwan) in November this year. Invited by Dr. Hui-Ling Lai (National Sun Yat-sen University), she will host a workshop at the course “Sustainable development issues in the context of globalization” and visiting the institute. Funded by Taiwan–Belgium–Netherlands Academic Exchange and International Mobility Grant Program, this project encouraging the academic collaboration and visiting between Taiwan, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
In Dr. Lai's course, building on the students’ existing understanding of environmental sustainability and ecosystems, Ning will share insights from their recent PhD research experience and field observations in the Netherlands. This will include first-hand observations of art institutions, artistic communities, and local communities, with a focus on social innovation initiatives such as community empowerment, artist residencies and local engagement, as well as efforts to integrate or reimagine public spaces within local communities.
