Geerte Savenije's PhD thesis Sensitive History Under Negotiation: Pupils' Historical Imagination and Attribution of Significance while Engaged in Heritage Projects has been chosen Best PhD Thesis of the year by the Erasmus Graduate School of Social Sciences and the Humanities (EGS3H). The jury was impressed by the multidisciplinary and multi-method character of the thesis. Savenije defended her thesis on October 9, 2014. Her research was part of the NWO-funded research programme Heritage Education.
