Symposium Cultural Policy

Symposium Cultural Policy
Frans Brouwer

Ten teams of Bachelor's and Premaster's students Cultural Studies presented a manifesto-film with a short explanation at a symposium on Dutch Cultural Policy 5 April.

They had prepared a policy report and the short-film in small groups during their tutorials Introduction to Cultural Policy. These deliverables were commissioned by DutchCulture, an advisory and information institution on Dutch cultural policy abroad, established in Amsterdam. The jury with representatives of DutchCulture, UNESCO Netherlands, Goethe Institut, British Council and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs / Trade & Development, selected three winning presentations with cultural policy recommendations to DutchCulture in Turkey, Belgium and Greece. The students learned to apply their theoretical knowledge to writing a policy report and creating a short-film as well as presenting their findings.
