Hilal Caferoglu

Hilal Caferoğlu is a junior researcher at Erasmus UPT and works on various research projects within the port and maritime context. Her research focuses on qualitative and quantitative analyses of current issues in the port and logistics sector, with attention to innovation, sustainability, geopolitical developments, and strategic foresight.

Hilal obtained her master’s degree in Management and Production Engineering, with a focus on system development and innovation management. During her studies, she completed a six-month internship with the innovation team at the Port of Rotterdam, where she worked as an Innovation Scout. In this role, she gained experience with innovation and scouting activities within the port context and developed an analytical and strategic perspective on innovation in the maritime sector.

The insights and practical experience she gained during this period form an important foundation for her current research work. In her role as a junior researcher, she connects innovative developments with broader economic and strategic issues within port and maritime systems.
