Dr. Simone Driessen participated in the biennial conference organised by the International Association for the Studies of Popular Music (IASPM), which took place at the Australian National University (24-28 June).
Her visit followed a grant she received from the International Association for the Studies of Popular Music IASPM. Dr. Driessen presented her paper about Taylor Swift's political outing and the response of her fans that followed. Themed Turns and Revolutions in Popular Music, the conference was a great fit with Dr. Driessen's research, and her talk “Look what you made me do. When affect becomes problematic in popular music fandom" was received well.
