dr. C (Carolina) Dalla Chiesa

Biography

Carolina Dalla Chiesa (1987) is an Assistant Professor of Cultural Economics and Organizations at the Department of Arts and Culture (ESHCC/EUR). Her research focus lies on the transformations of cultural markets post-digitalization, funding and financing models for the cultural sectors, and organizational debates in the arts.

Carolina holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Economics (2021 - Erasmus University Rotterdam), an MSc. in Cultural Anthropology *cum laude* (2017 - UFRGS), an MSc in Management and Organization Studies (2014 - UFRGS) and BA in Business Administration (UFRGS, Brazil, 2011). After her doctoral studies, Carolina worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Culture and Sociology Department at Leuphana University (Lueneburg, Germany) with a focus on the practices of digitally-based creators. 

Carolina was awarded the Best Ph.D. Thesis Prize (E021) by the Erasmus Graduate School of Social Sciences and the Humanities, and two prizes in Organization Studies conferences (2013 and 2014 - EnANPAd, Brazil). 

Furthermore, Carolina worked as a Lecturer in the Business School (UFRGS, Porto Alegre, Brazil), teaching courses such as Sociology of Organizations and Introduction to Management Studies.

Outside academia, Carolina worked as a Project Manager at the Creative Economy Observatory (OBEC), in partnership with the Ministry of Culture in Brazil (2014-2017), as well as a consultant in the non-profit sector for a brief period.
