AI Literacy

Introduction

Artificial intelligence is changing the way students learn and work. While AI can support learning, research shows that this only happens when students use AI in a structured and purposeful way. As teachers, we therefore play an important role in developing AI literacy together with students, helping them learn with AI rather than through AI.

In this MicroLab, we explore the key elements of AI literacy: attitudes, skills, knowledge, and ethics. Using the AI-GO model and the “AI Literacy Orchard” (AILO) metaphor, we discuss how these elements contribute to responsible AI use. Through interactive activities, you will reflect on ethical considerations, explore the role of AI literacy within your own discipline, and discuss how AI can support student learning through cognitive offloading and idea generation.

Who is this for?

Content, form and time investment

During the three-hour session, we will explore AI literacy and its role in supporting students to learn with AI. Through interactive activities, discussions, and practical exercises, you will reflect on the key elements of AI literacy and translate these insights into your own teaching context.

Earn an Edubadge

After participating in the MicroLab you will receive an Edubadge. This is a digital, visual certificate which you can share on e.g. LinkedIn. Interested parties can immediately click on the certificate to find out what you have done to achieve the Edubadge.
