Who is this for?

This MicroLab is meant for teachers (and other people with teaching duties/student contact, e.g. tutors, teaching assistants). No prior knowledge required.

What will you achieve?

  • You can explain the impact of (mental) health problems on the functioning of students.
  • You can identify (early signs of) well-being problems among students.
  • You can start a conversation with a student about mental health and refer to appropriate support.
  • You can argue what belongs to your role/task as a teacher (and what does not), taking into account the context in which you teach.

Content, form and time investment

This Microlab is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools to recognize signs of student ill-being, engage in supportive conversations, and know when and where to refer students for additional help. By creating a safe and supportive environment, teachers can provide the conditions for students to thrive. During the training you will have the opportunity to practice conversation techniques and discuss cases empowering you in your role to support students.

The MicroLab consists of a live meeting (online participation is not possible) and 3 hours (non-mandatory) preparation and as a reference work. For this, we offer a rich Canvas environment.

Earn an Edubadge

After participating in the MicroLab you will receive an Edubadge. This is a digital, visual certificate which you can share on e.g. LinkedIn. Interested parties can immediately click on the certificate to find out what you have done to achieve the EduBadge.
