On Friday 11 October, Julian Schaap will defend his PhD dissertation, entitled: Elvis Has Finally Left the Building? Boundary work, whiteness and the reception of rock music in comparative perspective.
The defence will take place in the Senaatszaal at the Erasmus Building on Woudestein Campus of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Julian Schaap (Rotterdam, 1988) is assistant professor in cultural sociology in the Department of Arts & Culture Studies. His research focuses on stratification in cultural production and consumption practices. For more information about his research, please see his website julianschaap.com
