This year, we once again worked with study association F.A. SHARE to host the ‘Beyond Your Degree: Students meet Alumni’ event. After last year’s success, we combined it again with SHARE’s annual Health Talk.
On Monday 28 April, students and alumni came to the Bayle building on Campus Woudestein to talk to each other as well as to attend the Health Talk, this time by Judith Spanjers, a freelance investigative journalist. Judith spoke about her experience of health care fraud in the Long-Term Care Act (WLZ), Social Support Act (Wmo) and Youth Act (Jeugdwet). An important topic from which our students can mine plenty of useful information on how they might be able to recognise healthcare fraud in the future.
After the Health Talk, there were two rounds of three sessions led by alumni from different fields. The alumni shared their experiences after graduation, their career paths and what their current jobs entailed. This year, there were alumni from government bodies, hospitals, health insurers and the pharmaceutical industry, as well as a doctoral student completing their PhD at ESHPM. In other words, plenty to choose from!
The aim of the event was to give students of all years a better idea of the possible paths ahead of them after their time at ESHPM. If you would like to come and share something next spring, let us know! You can send an email to alumni@eshpm.eur.nl.
Thank you again to all the alumni who volunteered their time to contribute to this event.
