Dr Martijn Felder has been appointed as the new Programme Director of Health Care Management/Zorgmanagement (HCM/ZoMa). He will succeed Dr Jan-Willem Weenink, who was appointed academic coordinator of ESHPM Academy earlier this year. Dr Felder's appointment is for a term of four years.
In 2026, Dr Felder will oversee the re-accreditation process of the programme. In the years ahead, he will also focus on strengthening the ‘hard’ management elements in the programme, providing a clear position for the investment theme 'workforce,' and aligning responsibilities and collaboration between HCM, the programmes of the Centre for Healthcare Management, and ESHPM Academy.
Dr Felder on his new role: “In recent years, Jan-Willem has taken many steps to strengthen these master's programs, and I look forward to further shaping these developments together with colleagues and students. Topics I would like to work on include aligning our programs with current challenges in the professional field, the role and position of the thesis process within HCM/ZoMa and enhancing the coherence of the master's programmes as a whole.”
Dr Weenink achieved a great deal during his tenure as Programme Director. Among other things, he led a successful revision of the HCM/ZoMa programme, resulting in the creation of four new graduation tracks, a redesigned academic calendar, and the introduction of the new mandatory course Capacity & Process Management.
We sincerely thank Jan-Willem Weenink for his contributions as Programme Director and wish Martijn Felder the best of luck in his new role.
