Thesis Master in Health Economics, Policy & Law

The master in Health Economics, Policy & Law (HEPL) is an international, English-language master programme. It is a multidisciplinary programme in which the complexity of different health care systems is studied from a health economics, science policy and health law perspective. In view of this broad, international orientation, the Master in HEPL not only prepares students for a national career, for example, at government bodies, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies and insurers, but also for an international career at organisations such as the EU, the World Bank, consultancy firms and the WHO. Within the master in HEPL, students can choose to specialise in Health Economics.

The master programme is completed by writing a thesis. For this thesis, the student can perform research for and/or at an institution. The basic principle here is always that it must be a scientific research that connects with one of the aforementioned areas of HEPL. The thesis must always be written in English and can take the form of an article or a report.

Period and study load

The thesis has a study load of 420 hours (15 ECTS). The thesis is often concentrated during the period from March to June, but this may vary.

Supervision

There is always a subject-specific supervisor of the thesis from ESHPM. This supervisor must also approve the research plan. Sometimes an additional supervisor from your institution supplements the supervision from ESHPM. The division of work and other practical aspects are jointly agreed.
