EvaSys supports course and module evaluation in higher education. You can use it to collect structured student feedback, review evaluation reports and identify concrete points for improving teaching. EvaSys is especially useful when your faculty collects feedback through a formal, repeatable evaluation process rather than through a one-off classroom poll or informal survey.

Examples of use in your education

Use EvaSys when you want to prepare and distribute a formal course or module evaluation through the agreed faculty workflow.

You can apply this tool in your teaching in several concrete ways:

  • Evaluation focus - Select, request or review evaluation questions where the local EvaSys workflow allows this, so the questions match the course elements you want to understand, such as workload, clarity, learning activities, feedback or assessment.

  • Evaluation distribution - Use EvaSys to distribute the course or module evaluation through the agreed faculty workflow, so students receive the correct evaluation at the right moment.

  • Response monitoring - Check response rates during the evaluation period when this is available, so you can remind students before the evaluation closes.

Tip 1

Plan the evaluation moment carefully, so students have experienced enough of the course while the details are still recent.

Tip 2

Add extra questions only when they address a course element you are prepared to interpret and act on, such as workload, learning activities, assessment or feedback. When students complete the evaluation, briefly explain why their feedback matters and where they can access the evaluation.

Use EvaSys when you want to review evaluation results and translate student feedback into concrete teaching improvements.

You can apply this tool in your teaching in several concrete ways:

  • Report review - Read the evaluation report alongside concrete course materials, such as the syllabus, assessment plan, weekly schedule or assignment instructions, so scores and comments are interpreted in relation to what students were asked to do.

  • Pattern identification - Look for repeated themes across responses rather than reacting to one isolated comment.

  • Improvement planning - Identify concrete changes for the next course run, such as clearer instructions, adjusted workload or more structured feedback moments.

  • Follow-up plan - Draft a short follow-up plan that states which changes will be made, which issues need programme-level discussion and how students or the programme team will be informed.

Tip 1

Make changes where the issue is within your course, and propose or discuss changes when the issue belongs to programme design, scheduling or faculty-level decisions.

Tip 2

Use evaluation results together with other teaching evidence, such as assessment outcomes, notes on questions raised during class, student emails or feedback from colleagues, rather than treating survey results as the only measure of teaching quality.
