TeachEUR - Sustainability competency - Critical thinking

Students learn to question assumptions and taken-for-granted ideas, analyze arguments, and explore alternative perspectives before forming a standpoint.

This competency is about the ability to think critically and independently - not accepting things at face value, but examining them systematically from multiple angles to reach well-considered and reasoned conclusions.

Students actively seek evidence and counterarguments, and reflect on their own beliefs, values, and actions. They develop the ability to critically question existing norms, practices, and ideas, to carefully weigh evidence and reasoning, and to formulate well-grounded and balanced viewpoints.
