In this activity, students use different AI platforms to analyze a complex scenario. By critically comparing the output of each platform, students learn to recognize inconsistencies and bias in AI output, to check facts and assumptions, and to integrate insights through collaboration and discussion. The activity stimulates critical thinking, collaboration, and the conscious handling of different perspectives, which is essential when using AI in professional and academic contexts.

Step-by-step plan
Step 1
Divide the class into groups of 3–5 students. Assign each group a different AI platform (for example GPT, Gemini, Claude). Give every group the same complex scenario to analyze, for example a business case, policy issue, or ethical dilemma.
Step 2
Have the groups analyze the scenario using their assigned AI platform. Focus on multiple dimensions: fact-checking, ethics, possible bias, risks, and alternative solutions. Encourage students to critically assess the AI output and take notes.
Step 3
Divide each group into new groups in which students each represent their own platform. In these subgroups, students present their findings to each other. Make sure every student has the chance to explain their findings and to question each other.
Step 4
Have the new groups compare each other's findings. Students combine the insights and work together to arrive at a nuanced solution or recommendation.
Step 5
Have students reflect individually or in subgroups on:
- What differences in AI output were there?
- What biases or assumptions were visible?
- How did collaboration help to find a nuanced solution?
- What would you do differently in a next analysis with multiple AI platforms?

Offline / online
- For students: laptop with access to different AI platforms, (digital) log for observations, comparisons, and reflections.
- For teachers: scenarios or cases for students to analyze, possibly reflection questions and example prompts/"devil's advocate" prompts, possibly digital brainstorming tools (e.g., Miro) for visualizing comparisons.
Tip 1
- Note that different AI platforms may arrive at the same conclusions. In that case, it can help to formulate some 'devil's advocate' prompts, in order to go against the prevailing AI conclusions.
Tip 2
- Actively encourage critical thinking: not only comparing, but also assessing for usefulness, accuracy, and ethics.
