From Protocol to Practice: Development and implementation of an E-learning module for the ESSB Assessment Protocol

Although the quality of assessment is high on the agenda, it appears that the assessment protocol often remains unread. As a result, it is not always clear which guidelines should be followed. This project involves the development of an interactive e-learning module that effectively familiarises teachers with the assessment protocol. The module consists of short thematic segments with realistic scenarios, direct feedback, practical tools, video explanations and gamification elements, based on instructional design principles. Mixed-methods research with needs analysis and longitudinal evaluation will be used to investigate its effectiveness: does it improve knowledge and retention, is it applied in practice, and does it improve the quality of assessment files? The project aims to bring about a cultural change in assessment literacy, resulting in structurally higher assessment quality. The module is scalable to other faculties.
