The major innovations in care and health in the coming years will mainly be determined by technological developments. Think of smart medical instruments and devices, minimally invasive interventions, new ways of imaging and image analysis, smart data technology, artificial intelligence and machine learning to breakthroughs in biomedical technology and nanobiology.
Erasmus MC wants to play a leading role in this, as the first technical UMC in the Netherlands. To this end, we are intensifying our collaboration with Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University Rotterdam. Together we will improve patient care and create breakthroughs in scientific research. To make this happen, we bring together researchers and students from different areas of science such as physics, engineering, biomedical sciences and medicine. We call this Convergence. We also provide experimentation opportunities to invent and apply innovations.
