Arts and Culture students and internships

Internship Arts and Culture Studies Museum

Why does one person only listen to Beyoncé, while the other loves Beethoven? How come others have both in their playlist? This is just one of the questions our students learn to answer in the International Bachelor Arts and Culture Studies. It is a broad programme in which sociological and economic views are both used to study how art & culture is produced within society and how it is presented by parties such as theatres, museums and festivals.

Not only do our students gain theoretical knowledge, they also explore the practical side of Arts & Culture. They learn to set up research, are able to assemble and process large amounts of data, they can write a text and can give a presentation.

In the fourth term (April- July) of the second year of the IBACS programme, all students are required to do an internship in the field of arts & culture relevant to their career goals. This internship lasts for a minimum of 11 weeks and helps to gain practical work experience and connects the students’ coursework with the professional field.

We are always looking for organisations and companies who would like to participate in our internship program by hosting one or more students for a work placement. Are you operating in the field of arts & culture? And are you looking for a highly skilled intern? The range of possibilities is very broad: theatres, festivals, auction houses, museums, fashion houses…
