ESHPM’s Academic Collaborative Centers (“academische werkplaatsen”) are long-term partnerships with leading societal organizations in healthcare, policymaking, and supervision. These centers are at the heart of our mission: creating knowledge that matters — for people, systems, and society.
Through these centers, ESHPM researchers work closely with professionals in policy, care, and regulation to address urgent challenges, co-design solutions, and generate actionable insights.
Our academic collaborative centers
Collaborative Center | Partners | Focus |
---|---|---|

Academic Collaborative Center on Elderly Care in Zeeland | Care organizations in Zeeland & regional stakeholders | Aging, long-term care, regional care innovation |
Additional long-term research partnerships
Collaborative Focus | Partners | Themes |
---|---|---|

PhD research embedded in the field
Each center hosts or supports PhD trajectories that are co-created with field partners. These projects ensure knowledge development is grounded in practice and contribute to both scientific and policy progress.
Examples include:
- Studying the effects of responsive supervision (IGJ)
- Modeling reimbursement thresholds using ZIN frameworks
- Co-designing future elderly care pathways in Zeeland
