Grantfinder
Students seeking financial assistance for funding their LL.M. programmes are invited to visit the Grantfinder website. The Netherlands Student Grantfinder is an online search engine for those who want to study in the Netherlands and are looking for financial aid. The Grantfinder contains information on a range of Dutch scholarships for foreign students.
For complete and updated information, please visit the websites of these scholarship programmes. You will need a(n) (provisional) admission letter from Erasmus School of Law to apply for a scholarship.
Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship
The Erasmus Trustfonds was founded to support research and education projects, organised by the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) specifically. The fund hereby aims to contribute to the growth and flourishing of Erasmus University.
This scholarship is only available for students of the master Commercial Law (and its specialisations), International and European Union Law and Law and Technology. The scholarship (max € 17.500) is open to individuals from developing countries. Besides the scholarship, a tuition fee waiver by Erasmus School of Law is made available. Both EU as non-EU students are welcome to apply.
Note that a total of 4 scholarships are available. Applicants from 7 other faculties of Erasmus University are included in the Erasmus Trustfonds scholarship application procedure.
Application procedure
The deadline for application is 1 April 2026. Students will be notified of the awards committee's decision at the end of May. Every application can be submitted by e-mail  (informationdesk.llm@law.eur.nl) to the LL.M. Office and need to include the following documents:
- Motivation letter (including intended career path);
- CV;
- Proof of excellence during bachelor of laws (certified copy of bachelor's degree including grade list);
- In case you have not completed your bachelor yet the average grade of the current year until the date of application applies.
Erasmus Trustfonds and TSH Changemaker Scholarship
The Erasmus Trustfonds-TSH Changemaker Scholarship supports underrepresented students to pursue a master programme at Erasmus University Rotterdam. The Erasmus Trustfonds scholarship covers the statutory tuition fee and a monthly living allowance of € 600. The TSH Changemaker Scholarship provides a one year housing in a Social Hub Residence.
Note that a total of 7 scholarships are available. Applicants from 7 other faculties of Erasmus University are included in the Erasmus Trustfonds and TSH Changemaker Scholarship application procedure.
Requirements
- Unconditionally admitted to the master at the start of the program
- Belonging to one or more disadvantaged or underrepresented groups, including but not limited to:
- Limited financial, educational, social, or health resources
- Refugee or newcomer status
- Ethnic/religious marginalisation
- Disabilities (physical or mental)
- First-generation student
- LGBTQI+ identity with potential safety risks
- Reduced social capital or sense of security
Demonstrated community involvement, social contribution, and commitment to engaging with the Changemaker alumni network

Ter Kulve Scholarship
The scholarship (max 17.500 euro) is open to individuals from developing countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts applying to a Master’s degree programme. After the completion of the master programme the awardee commit to return to their home country to use their new skills and contribute to their countries' social and economic development.
Note that only 1 scholarship is available. Applicants from other faculties of Erasmus University are included in the Ter Kulve Scholarship application procedure.
Besides the scholarship, a tuition fee waiver by Erasmus School of Law is made available.
Requirements
- Your nationality is one of the World Bank country classifications by income level for 2024-2025Opens external
- You are an excellent student according to the faculty’s standard. The average grade should be the equivalent to the Dutch grade of 8.0 on the Dutch grading scale of 1 to 10.
- You have recent relevant work experience after earning a Bachelor’s degree.
- You are applying for a full-time master at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
