Sofia Amaral-Garcia is currently a Researcher at Hasselt University. She is also a Research Fellow at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Previously she was a Research Associate at DIW Berlin, postdoctoral Global Fellow at New York University, School of Law, a postdoctoral associate at the Center for Law & Economics, ETH Zurich and an alumnus of the European Doctorate in Law and Economics (EDLE). She was also a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Collective Goods (Jan-Fev 2015), University of Illinois, College of Law (Fall 2010), and CRED (previously ERMES), University Panthéon-Assas Paris II (2011). Sofia’s broad research interests are in empirical law & economics, health economics, applied microeconomics and comparative law. Sofia received her M.P.P.A. (Master in Public Policy and Administration) and BA (Licenciatura) in Economics from Nova School of Business & Economics (Portugal).
