    Asia-Pacific Europe Law Institutes Alliance (APELIA)

    APELIA is a non-profit academic association founded by prestigious law schools and legal research institutions in Asia-Pacific and Europe. APELIA was established in June 2019 through a joint initiative proposed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University Koguan Law School and Erasmus University Rotterdam Erasmus School of Law. APELIA has 18 founding members from Asia-Pacific and Europe.

    Association of Transnational Law Schools (ATLAS)

    ATLAS was formed in 2006 with the mission of bringing together talented doctoral students in the field of law. The association strives to promote in-depth study of legal issues related, amongst others, to: the comparative legal and regulatory responses to globalisation; the evolution of transnational law; and the challenges involved in international governance.

    Common Studies Programme in Critical Criminology (CSPCC)

    The Common Study Programme started in 1984. The programme was initially developed to provide a common instructional framework in Criminal Justice and Criminology among several European universities. Since that time the programme has steadily developed into the premiere scholarly forum for the study of critical criminology. The programme has grown over the years and has participating universities in Europe and the United States.

    European Doctorate in Law & Economics (EDLE)

    Law & Economics today pervades research in all fields of interest. EDLE is one of the largest doctorate programmes in the field. It is a joint doctoral programme by four of the leading European universities: the Universities of Bologna, Hamburg, Rotterdam and Rennes1. The stipend-based programme aims at addressing a new class of outstanding PhD researchers from all over the world.

  • EUPLANT
    EU-China Legal and Judicial Cooperation (EUPLANT)

    The Jean Monnet Network ‘EU-China Legal and Judicial Cooperation’ (EUPLANT) investigates the interactions between the Chinese and the European Union (EU) legal and judicial systems and promotes excellence in teaching and research on EU-China legal and judicial cooperation. Through a set of research, policy and outreach activities, EUPLANT creates new avenues for enhanced academic and policy cooperation between the EU and China and engenders a better understanding of each other’s legal systems.

    EU Trade and Investment Policy ITN (EUTIP)

    Interdisciplinary collaboration pooling world-leading researchers in the field of EU international trade policy from relevant disciplines of law: EU constitutional, internal market and external relations law, international trade law, international law political science, international relations and economics. The aim is to create a significantly increased European knowledge base and research capacity on EU law and policy on the regulation of international trade.

    Netherlands Network For Human Rights Research (NNHRR)

    The NNHRR has become an essential platform for human rights researchers seeking to establish meaningful contacts and durable links in the Netherlands. The NNHRR is connecting researchers, academic institutions, innovative ideas and outputs, thus generating relevant societal insights. The aim of this network is to sustain and further strengthen cooperation in the field of human rights research. As such, it maintains and strengthens the institutionalised cooperation among human rights researchers in the Netherlands and facilitates the organisation of inter-university research and training for PhD researchers.

    Rotterdam Law Network (RLN)

    The RLN was founded in 1995 on the initiative of the School of Law of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The aim of the network is to enhance international cooperation by cultivating existing and establishing new contacts between the law departments of European universities and by providing a platform for an exchange of information and best practices about student exchange, staff and teaching mobility. Since its formation, the RLN has grown to include 35 member universities, mostly from EU member states, EU candidate states as well as from the European Economic Area. The network is steadily growing by gaining new members.

    European Network for Law and Literature

    The European Network for Law and Literature Scholarship has been founded as a vehicle for increasing communication and cooperation between individuals working on related topics within Europe. Founded by a judge and law professor working in the Netherlands and a literary scholar in Germany, this network aims to embrace the variety of disciplines and languages its participants work in as potential sources of scholarly richness and innovation.
