On this page, our consortium partners present their organizations and share why they are participating in and contributing to this project.
KNCB
The Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB) places great importance on creating a safe and inclusive sporting environment. This commitment is reflected in our Code of Conduct, the Spirit of Cricket, in which respect, integrity, and enjoyment are central values. Everyone should be able to enjoy cricket throughout their life without concern. Through the European OSE project, the KNCB works together with its partners to promote a sports culture in which social safety, inclusion, and equality are self-evident. In doing so, we support players, coaches, administrators, and clubs in building a safe, enjoyable, and ethical sporting environment.

KNZB
The Koninklijke Nederlandse Zwembond (KNZB) stands for a swimming sport that is accessible, safe, and inclusive for everyone. Exclusion, discrimination, and racism have no place in our sport. Swimming brings together people from diverse backgrounds and offers an environment where respect, equality, and enjoyment are central. Through policies focused on diversity, inclusion, and a safe sporting climate, the KNZB supports clubs, athletes, and administrators with practical tools and knowledge. Within the European OSE project (Our Sport is for Everyone), we work together to strengthen social safety, participation, and inclusion in sport. In this way, we build a swimming community in which everyone feels welcome and can participate with confidence and enjoyment.

NBB
The Nederlandse Basketball Bond (NBB) is committed to ensuring that basketball is safe, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. Exclusion or discrimination on any grounds has no place in our beautiful game. Basketball has the power to bring people together from all backgrounds and offers an environment where enjoyment, respect, and equality are the core values of our sport.
Through the European OSE project, the NBB strengthens its focus on social safety and inclusive participation, supporting clubs and communities in building a sporting environment where everyone feels welcome. Whether at one of our affiliated clubs or on a local outdoor court, we are all equal as basketball players and should be treated as such.

Gemeente Rotterdam
The Gemeente Rotterdam participates in the OSE project to make sports and physical activity accessible, safe, and inclusive for all residents. In line with its ambition to encourage lifelong enjoyment of sport, the municipality invests in research, knowledge sharing, and collaboration with sports and social partners. With particular attention to vulnerable groups, accessibility, and prevention, Rotterdam contributes through OSE to strengthening participation, social safety, and equal opportunities in sport, while supporting the development of a healthy and resilient city.

Erasmus School of Philosophy
From a philosophical perspective, sport reflects broader societal transitions and serves as a space where these challenges become visible and tangible. One of the most pressing challenges is discrimination, which remains a widespread societal problem and is deeply present in sport as well. We consider the role of philosophy in a research project on discrimination in sport as opening space for genuine dialogue and mutual learning between athletes, coaches, policymakers, and researchers. Philosophy invites us to ask foundational questions: why do we practice sport, and what kind of sport do we teach our children to value and embody? By reflecting on these beginnings, we uncover hidden norms and power structures that shape inclusion and exclusion. Philosophy should not remain abstract, but live in the locker room, on the field, and in the boardroom, where everyday decisions and interactions define sporting culture.

KNHB
The Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond (KNHB) is committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy hockey, both on and around the field—whether as a player, coach, referee, volunteer, parent, fan, or newcomer. Through its participation in the OSE project, the KNHB strengthens its focus on diversity and inclusion, recognising that not everyone currently feels welcome in the sport. Inclusion means more than access; it means feeling accepted, valued, and safe. With the ambition that hockey will truly belong to everyone by 2026, the KNHB works together with clubs to create a connected, open, and respectful hockey culture. By promoting awareness and action, the KNHB aims to make hockey accessible to all and to enhance its physical, mental, and social value for every participant.

NOC*NSF
Our ambition is that by 2032, twelve million people will participate in sports every week. This is only possible if everyone in the Netherlands has the opportunity to join in and feels welcome and at home in the world of sports. That is not yet always the case. That’s why, within the OSE project, we are continuing to build an inclusive and safe sporting environment. We support federations and clubs with knowledge, policy, and practical tools, building on existing initiatives. We are committed to fostering a sports culture based on mutual respect, without room for exclusion or discrimination, with particular attention to people with a migration background and LGBTIQ+ individuals.
