We are very happy to announce our Keynote Speakers:

Conference theme: The Stakes of Engagement

With the conference theme The Stakes of Engagement, we invite reflections on the societal role of philosophy in a time marked by intersecting crises and by both epistemic and practical challenges. Our aim is to foster an interdisciplinary conversation about what it means to do philosophy today, and how philosophical thinking can help address the demands of the present. We have asked our keynote speakers to think with us—drawing on their situated experiences and sharing insights into how they understand the “stakes of engagement” as philosophers: as thinkers, as actors, and as pedagogues.

Engagement may also involve a critical orientation toward philosophy’s own histories and heterogeneous genealogies, as well as toward the expansion of its methods in transdisciplinary settings. When engagement is enforced as a normative demand, it risks becoming itself an object of critique and also invites reflection on the strategic value of disengagement.
