This competency centers on values and ideals: what do we consider desirable, fair, or just? Decision-making often involves dilemmas and tensions between different interests. This competency focuses on making informed choices and setting directions that are grounded in values and ethics.
Students learn to understand, reflect on, negotiate, and apply the values, principles, goals, and norms of sustainability. They develop the ability to deal with trade-offs, ethical dilemmas, justice, and fairness in decision-making.
