ECHO Awards

Rewarding role models and drivers for social change

Nominate yourself or a (fellow) student for the ECHO Award, a prize for excellent talent with a non-Western background in higher education.

Eligible Students for an ECHO Award are talented individuals from a non-Western background who stand out because of their entrepreneurial spirit, organizational skills, active social involvement and constructive approach to challenges related to exclusion. The ECHO Award consists of a Summer Course at UCLA in the United States in 2025, an extensive network that can have a positive effect on your career opportunities and participation in ECHO's leadership program. The winners are selected by an independent jury chaired by Mrs. Kathleen Ferrier, chair of the Dutch UNESCO Commission.

ECHO is aware of the changing social context and the challenges involved in defining the target group.  Even though this definition appears to be no longer tenable, as drivers for positive societal impact EUR still encourages students to apply.
