Media & Creative Industries
Student MCI on campus

Media & Creative Industries is one of the five master Media Studies specialisations. During this master specialisation, you will learn to trace, analyse, and address key developments and challenges in the media and creative industries.

How do film festivals reach their audiences? What is the effect of blockchain technologies on fan engagement? How can we make the creative industries more inclusive? During the master specialisation Media & Creative Industries; you will bring theory into practice by diving into the challenges faced by real-life companies, managers, and works in the media sector and other fields. Furthermore, you will also obtain academic skills such as presenting, debating, writing, and will be trained to collect and analyse a variety of data.

The final step in the master specialisation is writing your master thesis. Students before you wrote their master thesis on topics such as ‘fan engagement and participation in cancel culture’, ‘the portrayal of female characters in teen dramas’, Instagram’s influence on well-being during crises’, and ‘the resilience of the live music industry’.
